“EGGS ARE EGG-CELLENT” OMELETTE COMPETITION, 2008 The 2008 Eggs are Egg-cellent omelette competition was mounted in collaboration with the FOOD section of the Gleaner newspaper for National Egg Month in October. Four finalists were selected to participate in the cook-off which was held at Little-White & Associates in Kingston. These were (l-r above): Judges included renowned nutritionist and Chief Judge, Dr. Heather Little-White, Ms Joy Hall representative of sponsors the Private Sector Development Project (PSDP) and Egg Industry Cluster Representative Ms Cheryl McLeod. Each entry was judged on presentation, taste, texture/moistness and the “want more” factor. At the end of the competition, Sharon Henry with her Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese Omelette emerged the winner with Sharon Edwards’ Callaloo Cheese Omelette in second and Michael Royes’ Fluffy Ackee Omelette in third place.
